Lamparske, Larry "Goofy" Larry passed away unexpectedly on July 21 surrounded by loved ones. Soon after "retirement" at 55 from the Minneapolis School system he went to work for Goldberg Bonding for 10 years, which he really enjoyed and where he retired for good. While a teacher he worked as a Minneapolis Park Police Officer for five years and after nearly 30 years with the Minneapolis Public Schools he retired as the Safety Director. Snelling National Cemetery Rifle Squad were an honor, humbling and one of the most important things that Joe did in his lifetime. His twelve years as a volunteer on the Ft. He was a proud veteran of the 3rd Infantry Division reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant and earned the Expert Infantry Badge. Later he received a master's degree in education from the University of North Dakota. Joe went on to be a proud graduate of Mayville College where again he was a top student and captain of the football team. Joe was born in Waubun, MN where he graduated from high school and was a top student and captain of the football team. Survived by son, Dan (Patricia), grandson Joe (Marguerite) and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents William and Helena, his siblings Verena, Irene, Dorothy, Leo, Edward, Richard, Rose, Elmer and Helen. age 91 of Columbia Heights Joe passed away peacefully on June 20th. Member of Mpls Police Band for 35 years and St. Director of Mpls Public Schools Facilities and Plant Planning for 23 years. Retired from US Army after 42 years, served in WWII along with the Korean and Vietnam eras, retiring as a Bird Colonel. Interment with military honors at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial Service 11 AM Friday, August 4th (visitation 10-11AM) at Holcomb-Henry-Boom- Purcell Funeral Home, 515 Hwy 96 W., Shoreview. Survived by daughter, Katherine "Kay" Jerentosky son, Robert "Bobby" (Tara) Tenhoff grandchildren, Ryan and Kora Jerentosky, Mia and Allie Tenhoff and Winston McGown sister, Marilyn McCarney nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by wife, Elaine on July 11, 2023. A funeral mass at St Odeilia of Shoreview MN for 08/17/23 at 10:00 am with luncheon to follow. John was an active member in AA and for 30 years shared his life and learned from a critical support network who became a second family to him over the years. Other hobbies included building and remodeling which John learned with his father Harry and father-in-law Louis Millette. John was a volunteer fireman for the city of Roseville from 1968-1988 and he taught drivers education on and off throughout retirement - the last school was CDH in 2020. From 1965-1968 he taught at Redwing State Reformatory, and from 1968-1997 he taught Math at 6 Minneapolis Public Schools and retired from South High School in 1997. John grew up in Prior Lake and went to school at Mankato State University. He was also survived by his brother Donald Farrell and many nieces and nephews. Survived by daughters Suzanne (Tim Oppenheim) and Annette (Michael Sallman), Granddaughters Marie (Jared Jerzak), Emma, and Sarah. In 2020 following the death of Marta Goldstein, NCIS: New Orleans paid tribute in memory of her as she played a significant role in the making of the show.Farrell, John Preceded in death by his wife and high school sweetheart Diana June Millette Farrell, parents Harry and Louise Farrell, sister Rosemary LaBounta, brother Cecil Farrell, sister Rita Jean Kerber, sister Bernice Unze. Marta Goldstein was born in 1963 in the United States of America and took her last breath at the age of 57 years old.
